Heatwave continues Friday, relief expected by Saturday

The heatwave is expected to continue across most of the country on Friday, bringing extremely hot and humid weather to most areas, while the northern coasts will see hot and humid conditions. Nights will be hot and humid nationwide.

In Cairo, the temperature is expected to reach a high of 38°C and a low of 27°C.

The General Authority of Meteorology announced that the intense heatwave will break across most of the country starting Saturday, and will last until Wednesday.

There is a chance of light, and occasionally thundery, rain in parts of Central and South Sinai, Halaib, Shalateen, and Southern Upper Egypt.

Active winds are expected in Greater Cairo, the Nile Delta, the northern coasts, and Northern Upper Egypt, which may stir up sand and dust in parts of Central Sinai, Southern Upper Egypt, and the Western Desert.

Sea conditions in the Mediterranean will be moderate, with wave heights ranging from 1.75 to 2.25 meters and northwesterly surface winds. The Red Sea will be moderate to rough, with waves from 2 to 3 meters and northwesterly and northeasterly surface winds.
