The Matrouh Health Directorate on Saturday revealed the final toll from the Matrouh train derailment is 103 injured and three dead.
Matrouh Governor Khaled Shoeib revealed that the train involved in the accident did not collide with a trailer or loader, as some had claimed.
This is evidenced by the fact that the locomotive remains present and intact, and that only the coaches detached and overturned.
Shoeib added, in a phone interview with Extra News channel, that investigation teams from the National Railway Authority and technical departments are continuing their work at the accident site to determine the exact details behind the incident.
