Egypt keen to promote relations with Mauritania to wider prospects, says amb.

Egyptian Ambassador in Nouakchott Ahmed Tayea said Egypt is keen to promote relations with Mauritania to wider prospects, given the deeply-rooted historical bonds between the two countries and their peoples.Tayea made the comments during his meeting with Mauritanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, according to a statement released by the foreign ministry on Friday.

The two sides discussed regional and international issues of common concern and the outcomes of the recent Arab League Council meeting at the ministerial level held in Cairo on 4 September, as well as the latest developments in the Arab world.In this regard, the pair emphasized the alignment of their countries’ positions on all issues.The two parties also explored ways of promoting cooperation in the economic field, taking into account the extensive expertise and leading capabilities of Egyptian companies, as well as the recent economic boom in Mauritania.
