Giza court jails woman for six months over mass dog poisoning

An October misdemeanor court has sentenced a woman to six months in prison and a fine of LE 10,000 for her role in poisoning and killing pet dogs within a private compound located in the 6th of October City, Giza Governorate, You7 reported.

One citizen was reported to have suffered poisoning from the same internationally banned toxins.

Security services were alerted after residents shared videos showing poisoned dogs bleeding in the streets, including pets that were officially vaccinated as part of national anti-rabies campaigns.

Investigations confirmed that the woman was responsible for the deaths of the dogs.

Authorities swiftly arrested the perpetrator, and the case was referred to the Public Prosecution for further investigation.

After the investigation concluded, the case was then brought before the October Misdemeanor Court, which issued the verdict.
