The official spokesperson for the Ministry of Health has revealed the latest developments in the investigation into the case of several citizens who were blinded at the Health Insurance Hospital located in 6th of October City.
During a TV interview on the “Hadret al-Mowaten” show, Abdel Ghaffar stated that the investigation has now been handed over to the Public Prosecution to take the necessary legal action and identify those responsible.
He added that the Ministry of Health, under the direct guidance of Minister of Health Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, is operating on two parallel levels.
The first is to provide all forms of advanced medical care to the affected patients, some of whom have been transferred to Al-Raml Hospital in Rod al-Farag to receive the necessary treatment.
The second level, he explained, focuses on a comprehensive review of the procedures used at the hospital and other medical facilities to prevent such an incident from happening again.
The Ministry of Health’s spokesperson affirmed the ministry’s commitment to holding any negligent parties accountable and ensuring that those affected receive the necessary medical and psychological care.
The crisis unfolded last Thursday at the 6th of October Health Insurance Hospital in Dokki, after relatives filed complaints about two patients who each lost an entire eye following simple cataract surgeries within a single week.
The incident has sparked major controversy on social media, with urgent demands for an immediate investigation to reveal the circumstances of what happened inside the hospital.
