The Israeli army continued its aggression on Gaza City early on Tuesday morning, with air and ground shelling of buildings in the northern Gaza Strip.
Flares were also dropped as part of what the Hebrew news site “Walla” called preparations for the occupation of the city. An Israeli security official stated that operations would intensify, as part of an imminent ground operation to occupy the city.
The Israeli army is focusing on attacking targets from both land and air. Sources also mentioned to the Palestinian News Agency, “Ma’an,” that if executed, the ground maneuver would be carried out in a deliberate manner, accompanied by “fire belts.”
The political echelon in Tel Aviv intends to issue instructions to the army to push into the heart of Gaza City, with a focus on locations where a large number of militants are allegedly hiding.
In the meantime, the Israeli army claims that as of Monday evening, more than 350,000 Palestinians have been displaced from Gaza City and have headed south. It is estimated that as the raids expand, the movement of residents will also increase.
The Israeli army has resumed its attacks and destruction of residential towers in Gaza City, having bombed and destroyed the Al-Ghafari Tower shortly after issuing evacuation orders for the tower and the nearby tents in the Gaza port area and the Al-Rimal neighborhood.
