The Al-Ahly Sporting Club’s Board of Directors has opened nominations for the upcoming elections on Monday to select a new board of directors.
The announcement was made during a meeting held on Monday at the club’s headquarters in al-Gezira area.
According to information received from within Al-Ahly Club, the board has decided that the general assembly will elect a new board of directors on October 30th and 31st.
The current club president, Mahmoud al-Khatib, has declined to run in the upcoming elections.
Khatib was absent from Monday’s board meeting due to his recent commitments in Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah.
This comes amid calls from the Al-Ahly board, its fans, and the Elders Committee to persuade him to reverse his decision and run in the upcoming elections.
