SHIBIN AL-KOUM, Egypt, Sept 30 (MENA) – Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly on Tuesday stressed the importance of expanding Japanese-Egyptian schools nationwide, citing their unique educational model that helps students gain essential skills and knowledge.
During a visit to Monufiya governorate, in northern Egypt in the Nile Delta, Madbouly inspected construction work on a new Japanese-Egyptian school in Shibin al-Koum. Education and Technical Education Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif said more schools are being established in coordination with Japanese experts, recently arrived in Egypt, to ensure high-quality implementation of Japan’s educational standards.
Governor Ibrahim Abou Limon noted the governorate already hosts two such schools—with 14 and 22 classrooms respectively—and that a third, currently under construction, will add another 14 classrooms on a 4,600 m² site.
Later, Madbouly inaugurated a new traffic corridor connecting Shibin al-Koum and Mit Khaqan. The 24-meter-wide road aims to ease congestion at city entrances and boost regional development.
Monufia’s engineering advisor Ashraf Tayel said the road was built to match high technical standards, featuring modern lighting, landscaping, and urban design elements to improve infrastructure and enhance the governorate’s image.
