PM urges fast-tracking tourism projects along ‘Holy Family Trail’ to boost visitor numbers

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said on Monday the government is working to maximize the benefits of ongoing tourism and development projects along the “Holy Family Trail” in an effort to attract more visitors to the historic route.

Speaking during a meeting at the government headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, Madbouly said the session aimed to follow up on efforts to enhance the touristic appeal of the trail, which marks the route taken by the Holy Family during their journey in Egypt.

The meeting builds on earlier discussions with stakeholders, the prime minister said, noting that a number of proposals submitted by major private tourism firms have been reviewed. These projects are intended to contribute to the revival and promotion of the Holy Family Trail.

Madbouly praised the creativity and quality of the proposals and instructed that feasibility studies be carried out for the suggested projects. He also emphasized the need to address any obstacles hindering their implementation.

He said the initiative is part of the government’s broader strategy to inject new momentum into the tourism sector and accelerate progress toward national development goals.
