CAIRO, Dec 24 (MENA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held a telephone call Wednesday with his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral relations and exchange views on regional issues of mutual interest.
The two ministers commended the pace of meetings and contacts between the two sides in recent times, and affirmed their aspiration to continue consultation and coordination between Egypt and Iran on bilateral issues of shared interest, in a manner that serves the common interests of both countries.
The ministers also discussed developments related to the Iranian nuclear file. Minister Abdelatty emphasized the importance of continuing efforts aimed at de-escalation, confidence-building, and creating conditions that would allow a genuine opportunity for diplomatic solutions and the resumption of dialogue, with the goal of reaching a comprehensive agreement on the nuclear file that takes into account the interests of all parties and contributes to achieving regional security and stability.
