Egypt and Oman FMs discuss strengthening bilateral relations and regional stability

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held a phone conversation on Monday,29 December,2025 with Omani Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr bin Hamad Al-Busaidi as part of the ongoing consultations and coordination between Egypt and the Sultanate of Oman.

Foreign ministry spokesman Tamim Khallaf said that Minister Abdelatty emphasized the special nature of Egypt-Oman relations, rooted in strong fraternal ties and shared perspectives on various regional and international issues. He also highlighted the mutual desire to further enhance bilateral cooperation and build on the tangible progress achieved in recent years, Khallaf added.

The two ministers discussed ways to continue coordination and intensify cooperation in economic, trade and investment fields, aiming to maximize shared interests and support development and stability in both countries and the wider region.They also exchanged views on the situation in Gaza.

Minister Abdelatty outlined Egypt’s efforts to stabilize the ceasefire, ensure the uninterrupted flow of humanitarian aid and facilitate early recovery and reconstruction efforts. He stressed Egypt’s rejection of any actions that could undermine Palestinian territorial integrity or jeopardize the prospects for a political settlement.Regarding Yemen, Abdelatty reiterated Egypt’s support for the country’s unity, territorial integrity and the preservation of its national institutions.

On the situation in the Horn of Africa, he reaffirmed Egypt’s firm opposition to any unilateral actions that could compromise Somalia’s sovereignty or territorial integrity, stressing support for Somalia’s legitimate state institutions, adherence to international law and the UN Charter and the need to maintain stability in the region.The conversation underscored the shared commitment of Egypt and Oman to strengthening bilateral ties and promoting peace, security and development across the Middle East and North Africa.
