The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) warned of a continued rise in temperatures across most of the country, peaking on Monday.
Rising temperatures on Monday will result in almost summer-like conditions with temperatures around 30C. The weather will begin to cool down by evening, growing relatively cold after midnight.
Weather maps show widespread dust storms in open areas of Greater Cairo, the Lower Egypt, and the Suez Canal cities.
Heightened wind activity will potentially stir up sand and dust, particularly along the northwestern coast, Matrouh desert, and southern Egypt. This could reduce horizontal visibility on some roads.
Meteorologists predict chances of light rainfall in parts of the northwestern coast and the Western Desert, extending overnight to areas of Upper and Lower Egypt, Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, and the Suez Canal cities.
There will be a 20 percent chance of moderate rainfall in some areas.
The EMA advised any allergy and sinus sufferers to wear facemasks, and for citizens to drive cautiously due to dust and reduced visibility.
Expected temperatures for Monday:
- Matrouh: 20C
- Alexandria: 21C
- Sharm El-Sheikh: 29C
- Cairo and Hurghada: 30C
- Luxor: 33C
- Aswan: 34C
