
CAIRO, Feb 24 (MENA) – Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly on Tuesday launched the presidential initiative “Abwab al-Kheir” (Doors of Goodness) at Al-Shaab Square in the New Administrative Capital.
The ceremony was also attended by Minister of Social Solidarity Maya Morsy, Minister of Local Development and Environment Manal Awad, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Sherif Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Alaa Farouk, Minister of Awqaf Osama Al-Azhari, Cairo Governor Ibrahim Saber, Giza Governor Ahmed el-Ansary and Qalyubia Governor Hossam el-Din Abdel Fattah.
Madbouli and the accompanying ministers inspected trucks loaded with food boxes set to depart shortly to targeted areas, praising the organization, preparedness and coordination among the participating bodies. He underscored the importance of integrating state efforts to ensure that assistance reaches beneficiaries efficiently and swiftly.
The Ministry of Social Solidarity, in cooperation with Tahya Misr Fund, is implementing the “Abwab El-Kheir” initiative throughout the holy month of Ramadan to ease burdens on the most vulnerable families and secure their basic needs nationwide.
The initiative includes the distribution of three million food boxes to families in need through continuous convoys covering all governorates during the holy month, in addition to providing four million hot meals through partner entities.
The move comes within the framework of cooperation between state-run institutions and civil society organizations to strengthen social protection system and enhance food security for citizens during Ramadan. (MENA)
