Weather alert – rapid temperature surges expected across Egypt within the next 72 hours

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) released its forecast for Cairo and various other governorates, predicting a significant temperature rise over the next 72 hours.

Temperatures in Cairo on Thursday are expected to fluctuate between a high of 30C and a low of 18C.

Thursday will begin with an early morning chill, transitioning to intense heat across most regions by midday before tapering off into a mild, cool evening.

The EMA warns of a sharp contrast between daytime and nighttime temperatures, urging the public to be cautious during these transitions.

The heatwave is expected to peak on Friday and Saturday, with temperatures in Cairo soaring past 35C, while southern regions could see highs approaching 40C.
