The National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG) completely denied reports that it had approved of the proposal of dividing the Gaza Strip into eastern and western zones.
The Egyptian TV channel “Extra News” reported on Saturday that the committee stressed that its duties and powers encompass all areas of Gaza to ensure a dignified and stable life for the Palestinian people, emphasizing that it absolutely refuses to be a tool in dividing the Gaza Strip.
The NCAG reiterated its refusal to deal with any armed militias that are based in the eastern part of Gaza.
It affirmed its hope that there will be pressure from mediators and the US administration on all parties to reach the second phase of the ceasefire agreement.
