Sisi stresses there is no alternative to a just settlement of the Palestinian issue

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi stressed that there is no alternative to reaching a just and lasting settlement to the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution, guaranteeing the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Sisi called for expediting the implementation of US President Donald Trump’s peace plan for the Gaza Strip.

This came during Sisi’s participation in a session entitled “Exiting Crises and Ensuring Stability in the Middle East,” held within the framework of the G7 Summit.

The Leaders of the G7 member states, President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, as well as the President of the European Council and the President of the European Commission participated in the session.

Sisi reviewed Egypt’s vision regarding developments in regional issues.

He called for a comprehensive settlement to the geopolitical crises in the Middle East to ensure regional and global peace and stability, especially after the suffering the region has endured due to years of ongoing wars and conflicts.

On the sidelines of the G7 summit, Sisi met with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, as well as with the President of the European Council, António Costa, and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
