
Medical sources in the Red Sea Governorate revealed the death of a crew member from the tourist boat that sank in Jabal al-Zeit area, north of the Red Sea.
He succumbed to injuries sustained from electrocution during the incident.
A vessel belonging to Ras Shukeir Petroleum Company rescued five crew members after receiving a distress signal indicating that the tourist boat was sinking in the Jabal al-Zeit area.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the boat, named “Sea Spirit,” had only five crew members on board, with no passengers or tourists present at the time of the incident.
According to initial reports, the crew members were rescued and transported to receive necessary medical care.
One of them later succumbed to his injuries from electrocution, while the remaining survivors are under medical observation.
The relevant authorities were notified of the incident, and a report was filed.
Investigations have commenced to determine the circumstances and causes of the accident, including whether negligence or technical malfunction contributed to it.
