Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty and Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, Mohamed Ali Nafti affirmed on Sunday, July 26, 2026, during a phone call that the special nature of bilateral relations and historic bonds uniting both nations.
The two ministers praised the development of ties and hailed the outcomes of the 18th Egyptian-Tunisian Joint Higher Committee held in Cairo last September, emphasizing the importance of following up on agreements to boost economic, commercial, and investment cooperation.
Abdelatty reiterated Egypt’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations across various fields.
Regionally, Abdelatty briefed his Tunisian counterpart on Egypt’s efforts and contacts with regional and international parties regarding rapid regional developments to de-escalate tension and support stability.
He underscored Egypt’s stance calling for an immediate halt to all military actions, prioritizing political solutions, and intensifying Arab coordination to safeguard regional security.
Regarding Libya, Abdelatty praised the results of the Tripartite Neighboring Countries mechanism ministerial meeting hosted by Cairo on May 21, stressing the need to maintain its regular meetings to support Libyan unity, sovereignty, and national institutions.
