Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Ayman Abu Hadid said that in two weeks time the ministry would be offering 100,000 acres of land in Sinai for agricultural investment.
The minister explained that priority would be given to Sinai residents and graduates of the faculties of agriculture or veterinary medicine.
He also said that squatters already present in the area would be given a maximum of ten acres each, while the rest would be given five to ten acres each, keeping 20 to 30 percent of the total area for residents of Sinai.
The land would be rented for three years, after which time it could be bought on instalments to be determined by the State Land Pricing Committee.
