Britain to offer Egypt US$30 million in aid

Britain will offer Egypt 30 million US dollars in financial aid, Egypt's MENA news agency quoted British ambassador in Cairo James Watt as saying.

The aid will be used in educational, technical training and support fields, Watt told reporters in Alexandria after visiting a factory of a joint company, the report said.

There is a tendency to activate an Egyptian-UK partnership and engage new economic fields to strengthen the partnership and enable the recovery of the Egyptian economy, he said.

Britain dedicates 16 percent of the total aid approved by the European Union to Egypt and Tunisia in the coming phase, the ambassador added.
