Police officers in Daqahlia Governorate continued to protest for the second day on Sunday against the ministry’s plan to replace officers. They claim the ministry failed to fire certain officers that have been rejected by the public, while others were moved to remote places as a punitive measure.
Meanwhile, protests erupted in various cities outside of Daqahlia, as public transport drivers in Kafr al-Sheikh staged demonstrations demanding better wages and working conditions, while engineering students protested their final exam results. They claim they were given low marks to punish them for demanding the removal of their dean.
In Qena, residents staged protests claiming their drinking water contained a salty substance. They blocked the highway for four hours.
In Alexandria, nurses of several hospitals staged protests demanding better salaries and bonuses.
