The “We are sorry, Mr. President” Facebook page reminded its members to send former President Hosni Mubarak messages at the International Medical Center on 4 May congratulating him for his 84th birthday.
The page published an announcement reading “Happy Birthday, Mr. President” that included phone numbers for the International Medical Center.
Mubarak is charged with killing protesters during the 25 January uprising and corruption. He is being held at the medical center while awaiting a verdict in the case, scheduled to be delivered in June.
The comments on the facebook page included statements such as, “Happy Birthday, Mr. President, you will always remain a president and may God heal you,” and “Happy Birthday…You were unfair to me, but I forgive you.”
