Voting for Egyptians abroad in the runoff between presidential candidates Ahmed Shafiq and Mohamed Morsy began Sunday, two weeks before local voting is set to begin.
Expatriate voting is set to end 9 June and the results are scheduled to be announced 21 June.
During the first round of the first presidential election after the uprising that ousted President Hosni Mubarak last January, Muslim Brotherhood candidate Morsy earned 24.7 percent of the ballots. Shafiq, a former general who served as prime minister under Mubarak, followed in second place with 23.8 percent.
The Egyptian Embassy in the Yemeni capital of Sanaa reported that it had received eligible voters in person and ballots by mail.
The embassy in the Palestinian territories also said it received voters based in the West Bank and Gaza.
Egyptian Ambassador Yasser Othman said 72 Egyptians had registered to vote in the territories, including diplomatic mission personnel.
Voting is scheduled for 8 am to 8 pm, Othman said, adding that results of the vote counting would be submitted to the Foreign Ministry and then to the Presidential Elections Commission.
