Acclaimed Egyptian actress and media personality Ismad Younes has announced the decision to re-release Adel Imam’s 2010 film “Alzheimer” in Egyptian and Gulf cinemas, marking the iconic actor’s return to the big screen after years of absence from the competitive cinematic landscape.
Starting from May 16, the film will be screened for three consecutive days, continuing until the 18th of the same month. The re-release is spearheaded by Arabia for Film Production and Distribution, chaired by Younes herself.
In a separate announcement, Front Row, the film’s distributor in Gulf countries, has confirmed its release in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain, also for three days, in celebration of Adel Imam’s birthday.
Starring Adel Imam, Fathi Abdel Wahab, Ahmed Rizq, Rania Youssef, Nelly Karim, Iman Al Sayed, Diaa Al-Mirghani, and a host of other talented actors, “Alzheimer” revolves around Mahmoud Shoaib, a successful businessman whose wealth attracts the greed of his children.
They file a lawsuit to seize his assets, claiming he suffers from Alzheimer’s disease, and appoint themselves as his guardians. However, his dedicated nurse helps him, turning the tables and exposing their true intentions.
The film’s story, screenplay, and dialogue are credited to Nader Salah El-Din, while the direction is by Amr Arafa.
