On Thursday, former interior minister Habib al-Adly was acquitted of profiteering and money laundering charges, involving sums worth LE5 million.
In March, the Court of Appeals had canceled a verdict that sentenced Adly to 12 years behind bars.
Cairo Criminal Court declared Adly innocent on Thursday after concluding his retrial.
Adly had been accused of abusing his post as Interior Minister during 2010-2011 through directing his employees to find the highest-rate buyer for a piece of land that was allocated for him as part of a police housing program.
This allegedly enabled the former minister to illegally earn LE4.850 million.
Meanwhile, Adly is being retried, along with former president Hosni Mubarak, over charges of murdering protesters during the 2011 uprising.
In addition, he is facing two other trials related to financial corruption.
