Adviser to PM: Conducting elections using single-winner system under study

Adviser to the Prime Minister for the elections affairs Major General Refaat Qomsan said Tuesday that conducting the parliamentary elections using the single-winner system was still under study.

“The Constitution has been reatified since the High Elections Commission announced the results,” Qomsan said during a phone-in with MBC Masr.

Qomsan pointed out that there was no need for haste in announcing the details of the electoral system as there would be no elections within a month.
