Agriculture Minister: Egypt comes in 1st rank in fisheries in Africa

Minister of Agriculture al-Sayyed al-Qusair asserted that Egypt comes in the first rank in the field of fisheries in Africa and the 6th globally.

There are a number of major national projects in the field of fish wealth launched by President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and achieved a big leap in production.

This came during Qusair’s meeting with Gambian Minister for Fisheries and Water Resources Musa Drammeh to discuss means to boost cooperation between both sides in the fisheries field.

During the meeting, Qusair asserted Egypt’s readiness to present all kinds of support and cooperation with Gambia, adding that this comes within the framework of the directives of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to present all kinds of support to the brethren in the African continent.

Qusair pointed out to the leap achieved in Egypt recently in the field of fish wealth and the developments in the field of fisheries.

He asserted the cooperation potentials in the field of training and exchanging expertise.

Meanwhile, Drammeh said that Gambia is working to increase and develop resources in the field of fisheries.

He pointed out to his desire to intensify cooperation in the field of training and sending Egyptian experts to Gambia to benefit from the their experience.
