Ahly receives GBP81,000 for training Mohamed Neny

Egypt’s al-Ahly Sporting Club said on Monday that it regained the rights for training its former junior player and Arsenal midfielder Mohamed El-Neny and will be receiving GBP81,000 for training him.

According to FIFA regulations, the training compensation shall be paid to a player’s training club(s): (1) when a player signs his or her first contract as a professional and (2) each time a professional is transferred until the end of the season of his or her 23rd birthday. The obligation to pay training compensation arises whether the transfer takes place during or at the end of the player’s contract.

Neny started his career with at Ahly’s juniors team before his transfer to al-Mokawloon Sporting Club, which sold the player to FC Basel, which in turn sold him to Arsenal.

The Board of Directors of Ahly headed has decided in a previous meeting to assign all executive departments to follow the rights and entitlements of Ahly to third parties, including the training rights owed to the club.
