Ahmed Ezz, former Secretary of the dissolved National Democratic Party, concluded all the paperwork required for his candidacy in the upcoming parliamentary elections in the Sadat City constituency, Monufiya on Thursday, said Ezz's lawyer Mohamed Hammouda.
Ezz's symbol during the elections will be a ship, he added.
Ezz was the secretary of organization in former president Hosni Mubarak’s dissolved National Democratic Party. He stood trial for multiple charges of corruption and illicit gain since the 2011 uprising that ousted Mubarak.
He is being retried over charges of obtaining illegal licenses for his steel factories.
