Citizens in Sadat City burned blankets they say were given to them as a voting bribe by steel tycoon Ahmed Ezz in an attempt to corrupt Egypt's political life, media host Wael al-Ibrashi of the Dream satellite channel said.
This scene symbolically burns all those who impede our march to the future, Ibrashi argued.
Many fear that a return of Ezz, a member of the former National Democratic Party and a close friend of Mubarak who was tried under corruption charges, signals a regression to the Mubarak era.
