Al-Azhar Grand Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayeb will attend a Christian-Islamic forum in Florence, Italy on June 8 organized by the Sant'Egidio Catholic community to promote dialogue between Christianity and Islam under the title “East and West: Dialogue of Civilizations.”
The community spokesperson said the dialogue aims to face the systematic destruction of the Islamic State.
This is al-Tayeb’s first official visit to Europe to attend a dialogue between religions.
