A Youtube account claiming affiliation with militant group Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis showed the IED bombing that targeted a police vehicle in North Sinai that left six officers dead on Tuesday.
Sources had speculated that militants linked to the terrorist organization had planted the IED on the path of a bomb squad vehicle that was combing the Arish-Rafah road for explosives.
Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis claimed responsibility for most of the bloody attacks on police and army personnel over the past year including an assassination attempt on the Interior Minister and the bombing of the Daqalia security directorate in 2013. It was declared a terrorist organization by the United States.
