The Arab League on Monday decided to form a committee to supervise the implementation of a recent Palestinian reconciliation pact signed in Cairo in May.
Egypt will head the committee, which also includes Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Qatar, Morocco, Yemen and Arab League Secretary General Nabil al-Araby.
The committee will set a work plan and submit periodical reports to the Arab League’s council.
Hamas, Fatah and other Palestinian factions signed the agreement, brokered by Egypt, on 3 May.
