The Armed Forces will soon hire a foreign developer to construct the first water desalination plant at a planned tourist hub near the Red Sea, an official source said.
The plant will be installed as part of the Galala Mount tourist city project and will process 150,000 cubic meters of saltwater from the Suez Bay, covering the needs of the entire city, the source explained.
He also noted that the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces is the body tasked with contracting a foreign developer for the water plant.
The source added that excavations are still underway for the construction of the tourist hub planned in the mountainous area overlooking the Red Sea.
