At least 15% of Banque du Caire shares to be offered for sale at $1 mln: former banker

The Former Vice President of Banque Misr, Sahar al-Damaty, anticipates that around 15 to 20 percent of the shares of Banque du Caire will be offered sale during the first quarter of 2024, at more than one million dollars.

Damaty added, during a telephone conversation with journalist Amr Khalil, that Banque du Caire’s proposal to a strategic investor comes at an appropriate time, especially since its profitability rate is high.

Banque du Caire has seen significant development recently, Damaty said, adding: “The offering will be a very good and timely step,” in light of the offerings made by 32 companies, including banks, for sale.

Banque du Caire offers dollar savings certificates, or the Primo certificate in US dollars, with a return of up to 5.15 percent annually.

Conditions for dollar savings certificates in Banque du Caire:

  • Interest rate: 5.15 percent annually.
  • The return is disbursed monthly.
  • Certificate duration: Three years.
  • Minimum certificate price: $100.
