Azhar and Ain Shams students march to Rabaa Square

Students of Al-Azhar and Ain Shams universities on Tuesday marched to Rabaa al-Adaweya Square after the army prevented them from going to the Defense Ministry. 
 
Army forces set up barriers and barbed wire around the ministry and fired warning shots in the air to disperse the marchers.
 
The “Students against the Coup” movement and Brotherhood students had announced on Facebook that it is organizing marches on Tuesday to commemorate the Mohamed Mahmoud Street events.
 
Meanwhile, scores of students of the Al-Azhar University’s Faculty of Medicine tried on Tuesday morning to storm the administration building but were stopped by campus security.
 
The demonstrators chanted slogans and sprayed graffiti against the military. They also tried to storm the the Faculty of Commerce building.
 
Also, female students of the Faculty of Islamic Studies demonstrated against Dean Mohga Ghalib, who is a member of the  Committee of 50, for dismissing some of their colleagues and referring others to disciplinary councils on charges of rioting.
 
The Gamaliya Misdemeanor Court had earlier sentenced 12 Brotherhood students to 17 years imprisonment and fined them each LE65,000 for trying to storm the Al-Azhar headquarters, assaulting the staff, intimidating citizens and destroying public and private property.
