North Minya Attorney General Abdel Rehim Abdel Malik on Tuesday agreed to move Mohamed Badie, the Muslim Brotherhood supreme guide, from Tora prison in Cairo to the Minya prosecution headquarters in order to attend on 15 November his retrial in the Al-Adwa case, in which he and 182 others group members were sentenced to death.
The Minya Criminal Court had on 21 June issued a death sentence against Badie and the other defendants on charges of storming, burning and looting the Al-Adwa police station and killing a police sergeant and eight others after the dispersal of the Rabaa and Nahda sit-ins.
The court had also sentenced four others to imprisonment periods between 45 and 93 years and acquitted 400 defendants.
