Bedouin tribes announce support for Amr Moussa in presidential race

Bedouin tribes in Sinai on Friday declared support for Secretary General of the Arab League Amr Moussa in Egypt's upcoming presidential race.

At a conference in Hurghada, which Moussa as well as about 5000 representatives from Bedouin tribes attended, tribal chiefs also announced they back the 25 January Revolution which ousted ex-president Hosni Mubarak.

Moussa, meanwhile, said he attended the conference because he believes that Bedouin tribes will play an important role in the political future of Egypt. He said Egypt is the leader of the Arab and Islamic worlds and henceforth will not be humiliated, but stressed the need to rebuild the nation following the removal of corrupt officials.
