The Bibliotheca Alexandrina plans to erect a memorial for the martyrs of the 25 January revolution, said the library's head, Ismail Serag Eddin.
Two panels are considering the best design and compiling a list of names of the dead, he told reporters on Sunday.
Serag Eddin added that the library has been gathering documentation of the revolution in the form of photos, video clips, official and non-official publications. He said that the youth behind the uprising gave an example to the whole world by uniting all segments of society regardless of religious, political, and intellectual affiliations.
Massive nation-wide pro-democracy protests kicked off on 25 January, eventually forcing president Hosni Mubarak to resign on 11 February after 30 years in power.
