Brotherhood puts forward three members for governorships

The Muslim Brotherhood nominated three of its leading members to the President Mohamed Morsy for appointment in an anticipated governor reshuffle, the Turkish news agency Anadolu reported.

Guidance Bureau member Hossam Abou Bakr, Secretary of the Freedom and Justice party in Monufiya Ashour Halawani, and Sobhy Attia a member of the group’s Administrative Office in Daqahlia , were put forward by the Brotherhood to be considered the governors of Qalyubia, Monufiya and Daqahlia, respectively.

Shura Council member Amir Bassam was also nominated, but his membership in the council prevents him from holding a governorship.

In the recent Cabinet reshuffle, Morsy appointed four Ministers from the Muslim Brotherhood.

The Brotherhood, according to source cited by the news agency, believes the need to appoint a larger number of its leaders in executive positions during the next period to help overcome the crisis faced by the government.

The Freedom and Justice Party, the source said, is pressuring the presidency to implement executive position reshuffles in this framework.
