Brotherhood reconsiders number of candidates for parliamentary elections

In a possible retraction of the Muslim Brotherhood group’s earlier statement about running for only 35 percent of parliamentary seats in elections, guidance bureau member Saad al-Husseini said the group is reconsidering this ratio.

“We might participate with a unified list of candidates that combines several political forces,” he said.

Experts say that, by reconsidering the participation ratio, the group is hitting back at the “secular” political parties that criticized the group for supporting the recent constitutional amendments without consulting with them.
