The security authorities at Cairo International Airport, in cooperation with a US delegation, have completed all arrangements for the reception of Melania Trump, the wife of US President Donald Trump.
Melania will land in Egypt within the next few hours, as part of a one-week tour of African countries.
A US security delegation visited the Terminal 1 Building to be briefed on the security and reception arrangements to be made for the first lady, as well as her tour after her arrival in Cairo.
Melania is scheduled to travel to several African countries on her first trip alone as the US’s First Lady. She aims to see Ghana, Malawi, Kenya and Egypt.
The First Lady’s tour is expected to include visiting schools, local hospitals and meeting children.
Melania said in a New York speech last week that she will also promote her “Be Best” campaign to help children.
“When I launched ‘Be Best,’ it was with the goal of combating some of the issues that children face today, by shining a spotlight on successful programs and organizations that teach children the tools and skills needed for emotional, social and physical well-being,” Melania said.
“Since the launch, I have had the opportunity to meet children all over the world, with the goal of talking to them about the importance of healthy living and responsible habits,” she added.
