The Supreme State Security Emergency Criminal Court, convened at the Badr Courts Complex, sentenced four defendants to life imprisonment on Sunday, and another to 15 years of hard labor, while a third defendant received a five-year sentence for joining a terrorist group in the First Settlement area, Cairo.
The indictment stated that the defendants established a terrorist group whose purpose was to incite public disorder, endanger the safety, security, and interests of citizens and society, disrupt the implementation of the constitution and laws, prevent state institutions and public authorities from carrying out their duties, violate the personal freedoms and public rights of citizens, and harm national unity and social peace.
