Cairo Film Festival to organize ‘Critics’ Week’ contest

For the second consecutive year, Cairo International Film Festival organizes on the sidelines of its 37th session an independent competition dubbed the Critics' Week where two awards are granted to directors of feature and documentary films on their first or second movies.

Seven documentary and feature movies, some produced by countries participating for the first time in the festival, will compete in the competition. "Journey to Rome", a Czech movie directed by Tomasz Mielnik, and "Tuk-tuk", an Egyptian movie directed by Romany Asaad, will be featured.

The jury will be headed by critic Mohsen Wify.
