
As part of its Cinema Club series, the Cairo Opera House will screen the documentary film “Al-Mazar” (The Shrine) on Thursday, April 16 at 6:30 PM at the Small Theater.
The film was prepared and supervised by Monk Fr. Paula Anba Bishoy and directed by Albert Makram.
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion, moderated by media personality Nancy Magdy.
Documenting a national icon
The film documents the life of Pope Shenouda III, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, tracing his journey from birth to his passing.
It also highlights his prominent political and national stances, showcasing his influence as a major figure in Egyptian history.
Promoting cultural awareness
The Opera House aims to broaden cultural perspectives and celebrate the figures who shaped the nation. The Cinema Club remains a key platform for this mission, turning film screenings into opportunities for social and intellectual growth.
