CAPMAS: Sugar prices up, chicken and tomatoes down

The price of sugar rose to LE5.74 per kilo in December, up 14.6 percent from November, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) has announced.

In a statement on Sunday, CAPMAS said that the price of red meat has climbed by 1.7 percent, while the prices of raw and frozen fish and dairy products have remained stable.

The price of tomatoes, meanwhile, declined by 33.3 percent to LE2 per kilo compared to LE3 in November.

The price of white chicken dropped to LE14.65 per kilo in December, compared to LE15.65 in November.

The price of eggs also dropped by 8.1 percent, with big white chicken eggs costing LE0.57 in December, down from LE0.62 in November.
