Chinese Minister of Culture and Tourism Hu Heping and his accompanying delegation toured the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir.
Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities Moustafa Waziri welcomed the minister and his delegation.
They toured Tutankhamun hall, the hall of treasures of Yuya and Tuya, the ancestors of King Akhenaten, in addition to halls grouping artifacts from the predynastic period to the Greco-Roman Era.
During the tour, the Chinese minister took commemorative photos inside the museum.
The Egyptian Museum is the first purpose-built museum. It houses over 120,000 items, with a representative amount on display. Located in a building built in 1901, it is the largest museum in Africa.
