Clashes erupt as shop owners direct traffic towards Tahrir

Clashes erupted on Sunday between protesters and shop owners in Tahrir Square, stopping traffic and leaving several people injured.

Shop owners blocked Talaat Harb Street and Bustan Street to force traffic to go to Tahrir Square and protesters confronted them, resulting in clashes.

Traffic came to a standstill in the downtown area as the confrontation was compounded by the actions of employees at the state radio and television building in Maspiro, who blocked traffic running along the Corniche, leading to more congestion.
