Cold weather, rain expected until Sunday, Cairo 23C

Chairman of the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) Ahmed Abdel Aal stated on Wednesday that cold and unstable weather is expected across Egypt on Thursday.

Abdel Aal pointed out that temperatures would decrease from four to five degrees below the normal temperatures in November.

Low and medium-level clouds are predicted for the north of the country, North Sinai governorate and possibly Cairo and Halayeb and Shalaten, accompanied by rain.

Heavy rains and thunderstorms are expected for the northern coast, Lower Egypt, Cairo, Canal cities and northern Upper Egypt on Friday and Saturday. Meanwhile, torrential rainfall will occur over some areas in Sinai.

Winds will be active in the north of the country on Friday and raise dust and sand in northern Upper Egypt, as well as disturbing navigation in the Mediterranean and Red seas.

Rains will turn light on Sunday, Abdel Aal added.

Maximum temperatures expected for Friday are as follows: 22C in the North Coast and North Sinai, 23C in Lower Egypt and Cairo, 24C in northern Upper Egypt, 24C in southern Upper Egypt, and 25C in South Sinai.
