Cold weather, rainfall and dusty winds expected across Egypt on Monday

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) expects cold weather to gradually dominate various parts of the country on Monday, making it one of the coldest days of November.

The temperature will reach 19C in Greater Cairo during the day, with the weather growing very cold at night in some areas.

There are chances of rainfall of varying intensities in Alexandria, Marsa Matrouh, Damietta, Port Said, Daqahlia, Beheira, Cairo and Giza.

 

Weather on Monday

Monday’s weather will be cold during the day in Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt and the North Coast, moderate in northern Upper Egypt and South Sinai, hot in southern Upper Egypt, cold at night and early morning in all parts.

Weather maps have monitored active winds in areas of Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt and the North Coast, blowing up sand and dust in areas of South Sinai and northern and southern Upper Egypt at intervals.

There will also be light to moderate rainfall in areas of the North Coast, central Sinai, Suez Canal cities, Lower Egypt, Greater Cairo and northern Upper Egypt.

 

Mediterranean and Red seas

Meteorologists expect the  Mediterranean Sea to be very turbulent, with waves ranging from four to six meters high with northwestern surface winds, while the Red Sea will be turbulent with waves ranging from three to four meters high with northwestern surface winds.

 

Expected temperatures on Tuesday:

  • Alexandria: 19C
  • Cairo: 22C
  • Sharm el-Sheikh: 26C
  • Hurghada, Aswan: 28C
  • Luxor: 30C
